A Light Rigid (LR) Truck Licence enables you to operate vehicles with a gross vehicle mass (GVM) exceeding 4.5 tonnes but not exceeding 8 tonnes and tow a trailer that does not exceed 9 tonnes. Eligibility Requirements

 

To be eligible to upgrade to a Light Rigid licence if you have had a car licence for 1 year, not including your learner licence. This means that you could apply for this licence if you have had your red provisional licence for more than 12 months or you are on your first year of your green provisional licence.

Types of Vehicles You Can Drive with an LR Licence

 

Upon successfully obtaining your LR licence, you'll have the authority to operate a variety of vehicles within the specified weight range. Examples include:
